A Watchful Door

I love this door! Sure, the color is a bit dark, but look closer at just a few of the details...

Even the handles have faces...and when you go to open these doors, you aren't holding a handle, you're holding some kind of bizarre fishy looking lion!! (BTW, the handles on this door are at about eye level...I keep wondering why door handles were so high once upon a time...were people really that tall?

We agree this is a beautiful door. Mom wonders if there is was a special place that made all these beautiful doors or was each door designed and built by the group building the structures. It is just amazing how many different doors there are. My hubby says this blog is bringing back so many memories of his trek around Prague. He nearly walked all over the entire city in 1999. HA

This door is realy cool and it looks familiar. I guess I could have seen it when I was there.
Do you have any idea how old it is?

It really is a small blog world.:)
Vicki and I went to San Francisco all the time when we lived in the East Bay from 1985 to 1990. I wanted to move to Europe so bad but we ended up back in Orange County for the next 17yrs and we've been moving closer to Europe ever since. :) At least the plane rides are have gotten shorter.
